Another...JO update.
All 10 and under events including relays will be swam in the
morning session as time final events. Also, the 11-12 200
free and 200 IM are not time final events and will be swam in
the morning and evening. All other 11-12 200's are time finals
with the fastest heat swimming at night. (200 BR, 200 Fly, 200
Back). We will also be parading out the top heat at finals
so please prepare your athletes for that process. We have
2 events that were not in the same order as the meet info. We
will be going by the order in the meet info and will appear
different in the meet Program. This occurs on Friday morning. We
will run the 10 and under relays followed by the 11-12 400Free
(not top heat) followed by 14 and Under, 15 and over and 11-12
relays and then will proceed into the 800 and 1500Free.
Please know that ONLY the TOP 8 relays in each age group will be
swimming in the finals each night. We will not know which
relays they will be until the psych sheet is either posted or we
find out on Friday at the preliminaries. I will try
to keep you posted.
The summer
JO entries
are posted finally. Please email Coach Rick by tonight if
there are any changes. I am leaving for the Speedo
championships tomorrow and the entries are due when I am gone.
Thank you. Here are the
Relay entries as well. The relays are
subject to change as always.

STAR captures THIRD place!
Courtney Otto named Most Outstanding swimmer of the meet!
STAR swimming
finished the Speedo Championships by taking third overall, just
10 points out of 2nd. STAR's previous best finish at this
meet was 15th back in March of 2008. Courtney Otto also
captured the high point award at this meet outdistancing herself
from many swimmers who attended the Olympic Trials just a few
weeks ago. STAR had a wonderful final on Sunday again
after an hour delay due to a strong storm passing through.
In the 800 free, Courtney Otto placed 3rd with a 9:08.11 and
Jordan Deren placed 16th with a personal best of 9:22.73.
Lauren Marchese then placed 16th in the 200 back followed by
Matt Schwippert placing 5th in the men's back, Dave Erickson
placing 12th, and Phil Aronica placing 20th. In the 200
breast, Caleb Otto finished 19th with Steve Berus coming right
behind him at 20th and Mike Dansa placing 24th. Our girls
400 medley relay then came back and placed 8th overall while our
men ended up 6th and 11th overall.
A very special thank you to
Mr. and Mrs. Aronica and Mr. Schwippert for all your help this
past weekend. We could not have done the trip as
successful without all your efforts!
